Sunny Hostin Offends Elon Musk on The View

On a recent episode of The View, co-host Sunny Hostin shared how upset she was after the results of the presidential election. She said that Donald Trump’s return to the White House left her feeling “profoundly disturbed.”

Hostin wasn’t the only one on the show expressing strong opinions. The other co-hosts have also been very open about supporting Kamala Harris,

Trump’s political opponent. During the election period, they often spoke out against Trump, calling him “psychotic” and talking about what they saw as his “levels of depravity” while discussing politics with their guests.

“In 2016, we didn’t really know what a Trump presidency would be like,” Hostin explained on air. “But now, we do. And we know he’ll have almost unlimited power.”

After Trump’s win, Sunny Hostin made headlines again when she deleted her account on X (formerly Twitter). She had already said she would do this, explaining that she no longer wanted to be connected to anything owned by Elon Musk. Musk has recently taken on an official role in the U.S. government as the head of a newly formed agency called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“I’m not going to buy a Tesla. I’m not going to buy Tesla stock,” Hostin said firmly on the show.

She also talked about how much she used to enjoy using Twitter before Musk bought it and changed its direction. “Twitter was already chaotic before Elon Musk, but then he changed the name to X, which was just silly,” she said, according to a report from Decider. “Nobody even calls it X!”

Soon after those comments aired, rumors started spreading online. Some reports claimed that Hostin had gone as far as calling Musk a “b*****d” live on the show. One article even claimed that co-host Joy Behar apologized to Musk and said that Hostin’s remarks did not reflect the views of The View.

But when fact-checked, these claims turned out to be false. No trusted media outlets published the story, and there’s no video footage to support the idea that Hostin used such a strong insult against Musk on live television.

While it’s true that Sunny Hostin has made her dislike of Musk and Trump very clear, there’s no real proof she went beyond criticism into personal insults. The rumors appear to be just that—rumors, without any real evidence behind them.
